As of May 10, 2013, taxpayers filing their monthly fuel distributor returns using the Excel Spreadsheet template provided by COFTS will be allowed to submit Excel files saved with an .xlsx extension (Office 2007 and later) as well as the .xls extension (Office 2003 format). The .xlsx extension will no longer cause files to be rejected by the COFTS system.
